Dot Day!

A few classes at Lakeview Elementary celebrated Dot Day, inspired by the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds.  It is a day, usually around September 15th each year, where individuality, creativity, and "making your mark" are celebrated.

Mrs. Brown and Ms. Eimer's class celebrated Dot Day by creating their dots on special coded paper from the app, Quiver.  After coloring their dot, they used the app to look at their dot in 3D augmented reality.

Also in celebration of Dot Day, these classes connected with two other classrooms through Skype.  Mrs. Brown's class connected with another first grade class in Katy, TX.  Ms. Eimer's class connected with another second grade class in Mason City, IA.  Both classes shared the dots they created, as well as had question and answer time between the two classes.
